  • About the Organizer

    The Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) is the enabling association for the information technology and business process management (IT-BPM) industry in the Philippines. IBPAP serves as the one-stop information and advocacy gateway for the industry. With over 300 industry and support-industry members and five associations -- the Animation Council of the Philippines, Inc., Contact Center Association of the Philippines, Game Developers Association of the Philippines, Healthcare Information Management Outsourcing Association of the Philippines, and Philippine Software Industry Association - BPAP plays a pivotal role in sustaining rapid growth of the IT-BPM industry by working to ensure an enduring supply of high-quality labor, supporting service innovation, and providing country visibility.

    IBPAP assists investors in setting up operations easily and quickly in the Philippines. Relevant research, introductions to key government and industry officials, and a series of briefings at each step of the investment process ensure a seamless development process. Ongoing support is provided through a wide variety of initiatives, including programs for HR development, business development, knowledge sharing, and networking opportunities.

    Antonio Baradi

    Operations Manager - Stellar Philippines Inc.

    Antonio Baradi contracted polio at the age of two. Because of this, he faced a lot of challenges growing up and had to prove to his critics that he can finish his studies and and become stronger. After graduating from college, he worked as a paging operator under Infopage and Nextel. He now has more than 10 years of experience working in the IT-BPM, then BPO, industry.

    Antonio is currently the Operations Manager of Stellar Philippines Inc. where he is responsible for customer service, team management, service delivery, and fraud detection and analysis. He also provides knowledge, education, support, and guidance in accordance with client-approved processes as well as internal company procedures and policies.

    Antonio graduated from the University of the East with a degree in Computer Science in 1995. He married Dr. Rochelle Saringan-Baradi and was blessed with two boys aged 14 and 6. Outside his professional life, Antonio has developed a passion for music and the arts.

    Sudev Bangah

    Country Manager - IDC Indonesia and Emerging Asia Lead

    As Head of IDC Indonesia Operations, Sudev is responsible for the overall development, sales research, consulting and marketing in the country. Based in Jakarta, Sudev works alongside local and global organization C-Level executives to help with their aspirations in developing a robust strategy and plan for execution in Indonesia.

    Sudev concurrently leads IDC's ASEAN Consulting group, and manages  consulting projects by providing clients with insights and the framework for cross-product consulting projects, as well as, market intelligence in a range of Go-To-Market services such as market entry analysis, market segmentation and buyer behavior.

    Sudev recently completed several IDC Consulting projects in the area of IT Services & Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Cloud Computing, Datacenter Strategy, SME Assessments, State Level ICT Blueprints and Benchmarking, Information Security (IS), and Telecommunications.  Sudev offers strategic recommendations and tactical approaches to key trends and major disruptors on converging technologies for major telecommunications players across ASEAN to shape their market strategy across various products from fixed line to mobile technologies.

    Jen Borlaza

    Talent Acquisition Direct, UnitedHealth Group

    Jen Borlaza is the Talent Acquisition Director for UnitedHealth Group, overseeing recruitment and sourcing operation across all the sites in the Philippines. Jen comes with over 16 years of experience leading Talent Acquisition teams in handling hiring for various industries such as consulting, banking, BPO, Shared Services and healthcare.

    Jen champions and is a firm believer of innovation in the workplace and processes. She has led numerous projects that enabled organizations to build talent, scale with speed and quality.

    Prior to her current stint at UnitedHealth Group, she served as the Assistant Vice President/Talent Acquisition Leader for Citigroup's BPO and Shared Services arm.

    Karen Batungbacal

    Executive General Manager - QBE Group Shared Services Limited

    Karen Batungbacal is a recognized leader and a strategic senior executive, who has built and managed small to large-scale operations; from regional teams of 30 staff to over 10,000 across multiple industries across Asia Pacific and the US.

    Karen is currently the Executive General Manager for QBE’s Global Shared Services Centre in the Philippines. She co-founded and was the first President of Information and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP). She continues to be a Senior Advisor to the Board of Trustees of IBPAP, and Vice-Chairman of the Board representing Global Inhouse Center Council (GICC). She is also a board member of the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP), American Chamber of Commerce, Contact Center Association of the Philippines, and the Manila Polo Club.

    Karen is a Chemical Engineer by training, but is best known as a pioneer in the Business Process Offshoring & Shared Services space, having built and led companies in this sector since 2000.

    Dr. Vicky Belo

    Owner and Founder - Belo Medical Group

    Dr. Victoria G. Belo obtained her Bachelor of Science from UP Diliman and completed her Degree of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Sto. Tomas. She later received her diploma in Dermatology from the Institute of Dermatology in Bangkok, Thailand.

    Dr. Belo is currently supplementing her studies in Dermatology and Laser Surgery in California, Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, and at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in the University of California at San Francisco.

    In 1990, Dr. Belo opened her first clinic at the Medical Towers in Makati. Pioneering liposuction and lasers in the country, Dr. Belo managed to expand her business by putting up Belo Medical Group, now with nine clinics in Metro Manila, one each in Cebu and Davao, and more in the next few years.

  • Penny Bongato

    Executive Director for Talent Development - Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines

    As the executive director for talent development at the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), Penny manages all talent-related initiatives for the industry for the Roadmap 2016, including implementing the current portfolio, anchoring the talent working group, and launching and monitoring the Talent Partnerships program. Penny has more than 25 years of work experience, 15 years of which have been focused on human resource management. She served as vice president for HR of the Philippine American Life and General Insurance Company, and regional HR director for Asia Pacific of Headstrong.

    Rainerio Borja

    President for Philippines and Australia - Expert Global Solutions (EGS)

    Bong Borja is currently the President for Philippine and Australian Operations of Expert Global Solutions (EGS). Prior to joining EGS in 2012, he was President of Aegis People Support Philippines for 12 years. Bong pioneered the setup of BPO in the Philippine provinces and its expansion to regions such as Costa Rica. He successfully put People Support in the NASDAQ listing in 2004. Credited as the man behind the success of call center and BPO industry in the country, Bong is one of the founders and former chairman of the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP). He continues to support the industry by taking leadership roles and sitting on the boards for both IBPAP and the Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP).

    Bong is the first recipient of the Individual IC Contributor Award for the Philippines.

    Tshering Cigay Dorji

    CEO - Thimpu Techpark

    An engineer by training, Dr. Tshering Cigay Dorji takes great interest in technology as well as social and cultural issues that affect society. He is a firm believer of lifelong learning and reads extensively on technology, management and social sciences. He has written a book and numerous articles.

    He has a Ph.D in computer engineering (informatics) from the University of Tokushima, Japan, plus a Master of Management degree from the University of Canberra, Australia, and around 15 years of work experience in programming, system administration, information system design, research and senior level management in the corporate sector. He obtained his first degree in Electrical Engineering (First Class Honours) from the University of Wollongong, Australia, in 1999.

    He currently works as the Chief Executive Officer of Thimphu TechPark, the first IT Park in Bhutan built on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model with support from the World Bank. He has previously worked with Bhutan Telecom as the head of Billing & International Affairs.

    Laurence Cua

    General Manager - Uber Manila

    Laurence is the General Manager for Uber Manila. Previously, he was responsible for the prepaid business for T-Mobile in the United States. Prior to that, he was in charge of trade marketing for the hair, oral care and deodorants categories for Unilever Philippines.

    Laurence holds an MBA degree from the Kellogg School of Management and a Management Engineering degree from Ateneo de Manila. He is passionate about anything technology and does 3D printing in his spare time.

    Winston O. Cruz

    Vice President - Philippine Software Industry Association of the Philippines

    Winston Cruz is a Managing Director for the Accenture Delivery Centers in the Philippines.  He leads the Technology for Operations delivery group, overseeing factories around the globe that deliver technology services and innovation for clients.  Winston has extensive experience in application outsourcing, IT services delivery, technology capability building and project management, having worked in various positions in Accenture over a career span of 27 years.  Winston is also the Vice President of the Philippine Software Industry Association.

    Marie Grace A. Dimaranan

    Vice President -Animation Council of the Philippines, Inc. (ACPI)​

    A pioneer Board officer of the Animation Council of the Philippines since 2000, Grace Dimaranan has been active in promoting the industry in various seminars and trade fairs both locally and overseas. She is a strong advocate in the promotion and production of original Filipino content through the ANIMAHENASYON festival and international film festivals.

    An animator and designer for more than 25 years, Grace has worked for animation shows coming from Hanna- Barbera, Disney, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon & HBO. She is an industry consultant for developing curriculum under Tesda, CHED and DePed for Animation, Design and Illustration. She is the CEO and owner of the 15-year old animation production company TOP PEG Animation and Creative Studio. She also oversees two new schools, TOP PEG Institute of Animation and Design in Las Pinas City and TOP PEG - ANIME School Inc. in BGC, Taguig City.

  • Jonathan Defensor De Luzuriaga

    President - Philippine Software Industry Association; Country Manager - Sonic Managed Services; Managing Partner - Compos Mentis Inc. Advisory, Research & Consulting

    As the President of the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA), Jonathan leads the way for the Information Technology industry to meet its vision of “Driving the Philippine Software Services and Products Industry to attain and sustain Global Leadership in market share, mindshare and innovation.”

    Jonathan is currently the Country Manager of Sonic Managed Services, a company with presence in the Philippines, China and Malaysia. He is also the Managing Partner of Compos Mentis Inc., a consulting, advisory and research organization specifically catering to the outsourcing and IT-enabled services sector.

    Jonathan is a seasoned independent World Bank Consultant for global information technology initiatives responsible for the design and implementation of such projects as the Center of Excellence in IT-BPO for Central Africa, the feasibility study of the Malili Technopark in Kenya as well as a multitude of talent mapping initiatives in Southeast Asia.

    Josep Elias

    Vice President and General Manager - Automatic Data Processing (Philippines) Inc.

    Originally from Barcelona, Spain, Josep’s career at Automatic Data Processing (ADP) has spanned over a decade. Throughout his career in ADP, Josep developed the foundation for delivering One ADP solutions to multinational clients and constantly achieved double-digit sales growth every year. His work at ADP made Streamline one of ADP’s fastest growing businesses and created the platform to provide seamless service and solutions to multinational clients. He was appointed as Vice President and General Manager for ADP (Philippines), Inc. last August 2014 and has since been focused on leadership development, improving client experience and continuing to build local success.

    Josep has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts and a degree in Management Development from the IESE Business School in Barcelona. Josep relocated with his family and they have since settled into the Filipino lifestyle.

    Stefan Eschler

    Managing Director - Bayer Business Services Philippines, Inc.

    Stefan has been a Manager in the area of Finance and Accounting at a senior level for the past 10 years. He has a wide range of experience in sales, marketing, controlling, personnel management and accounting. He also has international experience in business development of regional subsidiaries and regions especially in Asia Pacific region.

    Stefan is the Managing Director of Bayer Business Services Philippines, Inc. since 2012. Prior to his current role, he served several others includingHead of Department Accounts Payable at EuroServices Bayer; Business Manager at Bayer Healthcare AG; Regional Controlling and Management Support at Bayer AG; Marketing Manager at P.T. Bayer Indonesia, Jakarta; and, Marketing Executive at Bayer AG.

    John Gonzales

    Vice President, Head of Enterprise Strategic Solutions Group - PLDT ALPHA Enterprise

    John is currently the Vice President and Head of the Enterprise Strategic Solutions group of PLDT ALPHA Enterprise. In this role, he is in charge of managing Big Data, Cloud, M2M, Internet of Things (IoT) and other emerging technology Initiatives of PLDT for its corporate enterprise customers.

    Prior to joining the Philippine telecom giant, John co-founded and led a cloud service provider called Business Cloud Live. He also became General Manager of companies like Jebsen and Jessen Philippines and Teledata Philippines. He was also able to work for technology companies like Oracle Philippines and Sun Microsystems Philippines. To date, John has been in the Information and Communications Technology industry for 25 years.

    Joey Gurango

    Founder - Gurango Software

    Joey Gurango is the Founder, CEO and CTO of Gurango Software. He also serves as the Director of XURPAS Inc., and the Managing Director of KATION Technologies. In 2012, he was elected Vice-President and Director of the Philippine Software Industry Association. On July 2013, he became the association’s President and Director served that role for almost two years.

    Previously, he has served as Regional Director for Microsoft Business Solutions where his main responsibility was providing product support and service delivery strategies for the Asia Pacific region. He also served as the Managing Director of Great Plains Software where he managed the Philippines’ global product development center.

    In the earlier years of his career, he has taken on the roles of Technical Support Engineer for Apple Computer in 1983-1984 and Software Development Engineer for Microsoft in 1986-1987. In 1987, Joey founded Match Data Systems which started as a sole proprietorship in Bellevue WA before being moved to the Philippines in 1991.

    Benedict Hernandez

    Managing Director and Service Delivery Operations Lead - Accenture Philippines; President - Contact Center Association of the Philippines

    Benedict Hernandez has overall responsibility for the delivery of Accenture Operations in the Philippines to top clients worldwide. These include industry-specific BPO services, notably, health administration and care management, network services, utilities, as well as cross–industry BPO services, such as finance and accounting, human resources and customer contact services.

    Benedict has served as President & CEO of the IT-Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) and currently is its Chairman of the board executive committee. He is also the President of the Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP). Through these industry engagements, Benedict helps drive multi–sector efforts to continue growing the country’s IT and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) economy, including industry roadmap development, talent development programs, policy advocacy, and country brand promotion.

    Prior to IT-BPM, Benedict spent seven years in the telecommunications industry, setting up and building the customer care operations of Nextel Communications Philippines Inc., where he served as VP for Customer Care, and Smart Communications, Inc., where he last served as Customer Care Manager.

  • Kee Teek Hong

    Vice President & General Manager - Manila Shared Services Center Chevron Holdings Inc.

    Kee Teek Hong is the Vice President and General Manager of Chevron Holdings Inc. at its Manila Shared Services Center. He is also the Director of the Philippine Association of Multinational Companies Regional Headquarters, Inc. (PAMURI) as well as its Vice President for Fiscal Incentives; and the Board Chairman of the Global In-house Center Council Philippines, Inc. (GICC) which is affiliated with the Information Technology and Business Process Management Association of the Philippines (IBPAP).

    Prior to his current roles, he took on managerial positions in finance, project management, and planning at Caltex Singapore and Malaysia. He also served as the director of both branches in various Caltex-joint ventures. He was also part of Chevron Asia Pacific where he had various finance positions including the role of Regional Comptroller.

    Kee is a Certified Public Accountant and received his Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from the National University of Singapore.

    Monchito Ibrahim

    Deputy Executive Director; Information and Communications Technology Office - Department of Science and Technology

    Monchito started his career in the Philippine IT industry in 1975 and has worked for multinational companies like Fujitsu, WeServ, Siemens-Nixdorf, Comparex Germany and Unisys Australia in various executive positions. In 2007, he was appointed Commissioner of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT). He also served as President of the Philippine Computer Society (PCS) in 2004-2005. He is currently the President of the University of the Philippines System Information Technology Foundation (UPSITF).

In 1984-1998, he has served as PHIVOLCS’ Science Research Specialist and was promoted to Supervising Science Research Specialist. He was also the institute’s Chief Science Research Specialist in 1999-2002.

    Earlier in his career, Renato served as Shipboard Scientist for Ocean Drilling Program and Scripps Institution of Oceanography in 1988 and 1994, respectively. In 2007, 2009, and 2012, he took the role of Subject Matter Expert for Safe Cities and Earthquake Disaster Risk Management Reduction when he worked for the World Bank Institute’s online course on Disaster Risk Reduction.

    Renato received multiple awards in 2010 including the Outstanding Professional of the Year in the field of Geology from the Philippine Regulation Commission; the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award from the Philippine Civil Service Commission; and, the Excellence Award for Government Services from the Philippine Federation of Professional Associations.

    Michael Sy

    Head of Products and Services - Globe Telecom, Inc.

    Mike Sy is the Head of the Products and Services team within the IT-Enabled Services group at Globe. In this role, he is responsible for driving the Data Center, CloudSolutions, Managed IT, Machine-to-Machine and Managed Payroll and HR product offerings.

    Mike has over 15 years of experience in Strategy, Product Management, Supply Chain, and Product development which he has gained from his stint at technology companies such as Cisco, Juniper Networks, Sun Microsystems and EMC. He also holds an MBA from MIT Sloan; as well as a Masters of Engineering, and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT.

    Lito Tayag

    Country Managing Director - Accenture, Inc. (Philippines)

    As Country Managing Director of Accenture, Inc. (Philippines), Lito is responsible for the growth and sustainability of Accenture’s business which provides technology, operations  (BPO) and consultancy services to the company’s local and global clients. He is also Accenture’s Corporate Citizenship lead for ASEAN, overseeing all CSR programs in the region.

    He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees and Vice Chairman of the Information Technology and Business Processing Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) and was elected to the Board of Directors of the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) in 2006 and 2007.

    Outside of official functions, Lito is active in the education sector as the Vice Chairman of the Mother Rosa Memorial Foundation which owns the Assumption-run school in San Simon, Pampanga; and a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Assumption in San Fernando, Pampanga and Assumption Antipolo.

    Rajneesh has been in the BPO space for the past 15 years holding various leadership roles across Asia, North America & UK and has successfully delivered several product, process & business transformations Before he moved to the BPO Industry, Rajneesh worked for an automotive major in manufacturing. He is a certified Six Sigma trainer with expertise in Lean & Six Sigma methodologies, end-to-end business process redesign, process migrations & implementations.

    Earl Valencia

    President and Co-Founder - IdeaSpace Foundation, Inc.

    Earl is the president and co-founder of IdeaSpace Foundation, a non-profit incubator and accelerator based in Manila. IdeaSpace is funded by First Pacific, one of the largest business groups in Southeast Asia focused on telecom, energy, infrastructure, and agriculture.  He is concurrently the Vice President of Corporate Development and Innovation at Smart Communications.

    Prior to his move to Asia, he was a Business Incubation Manager at Cisco’s Emerging Technologies Group in Silicon Valley.  He was also a Senior Systems Engineer at Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems in Los Angeles. He worked in VC firms H&Q Asia Pacific in Manila and Investor Growth Capital in Menlo Park.

    In 2007, he was one of the "New Faces of Engineering" published in USA Today.  He has been named one of  Manila’s Top 40 under 40 by DevEx, received the first Innovation awardee of the Young Marketing Masters Awards and honored as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in Geneva.

    Butch Valenzuela

    Founder - Visaya KPO Corporation

    In 2007, Butch Valenzuela founded the Visaya Knowledge Process Outsourcing Corporation, a contact center in Makati, Philippines with its primary market being small-to-medium sized companies in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.

    In 2011, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Contact Center Association of the Philippines, the official organization of contact centers in the Philippines with more than 90 member organizations comprising about 80 percent of the total seat count in the Philippines.

    Butch has over 25 years experience with Fortune 200 companies and has held positions as MIS Manager for FMC Corporation’s Agricultural Chemicals Group Asian Regional Office in Manila and as Director of Strategic Planning and eBusiness for ITT Industries in Foothill Ranch, California. He was a Director of Information Systems and Financial Controller for Flojet Corporation in Irvine, California. He was also a management consultant for Providence Enterprises, Ltd., a contract manufacturer in Shenzhen, China.


    Godelieve van Dooren

    ASEAN Business Leader Information Solutions - Mercer

    Godelieve van Dooren is the Information Solutions Business Leader for ASEAN and is in charge of the strategic positioning of Mercer’s information services in eight counties across ASEAN. Next to this role, she serves as the Mercer Malaysia country leader. Prior to taking up these positions in 2013, she was Mercer’s Asia Pacific Benefits Product Manager and was responsible for Mercer’s benefits surveys and related benefits product.

    Godelieve is also involved in several industry forums consisting of leading MNCs, including Mercer's Hi-Tech and Mercer's Consumer Goods forum.

    Before joining Mercer in 2007, Godelieve worked as a senior human resources consultant with Ernst & Young in the Netherlands, specializing in benefits design and consulting. She has led many projects for multinational companies on HR issues concerning human resource strategies, performance management and development of reward schemes focusing on (flexible) benefits plans.

    Marife B. Zamora

    Chairperson - Convergys Philippines Services Corporation

    Marife has been serving as Chairperson of Convergys Philippines Services Corporation since April 2014. She also served as the first country manager of Convergys Philippines, setting up its first contact center in 2003. In 2011, she became the managing director for Asia Pacific and EMEA and was responsible for Convergys contact centers in the Philippines, India, United Kingdom, and Malaysia.

    Previously, she was president of the Philippine Software Association from 2001 to 2003 and board director of the Contact Center Association of the Philippines, 2007 to 2010.  Zamora was also vice president of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, 2009 to 2011 and treasurer, 2011-2013.

    Marife recently received honors that include the Asia CEO Awards 2011 Global Filipino Executive of the Year, ‘Go Negosyo’ Woman STARpreneuer Award in the 2012 Women Entrepreneurship Summit, and was part of the 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World Award given by the Filipina Women’s Network Global 100 in 2013.
